Local animal sanctuary gets £135 donation

This quarter’s recipient of Whimsy by the Peak’s £15 per booking wildlife charity pledge is Charlie’s Place, a safe space and rehabilitation centre for wild, farmed and domesticated animals, based in Pilsley, less than 20 mins from my cottage in Tansley. My New Year's Resolution- to take action for nature and donate £15 per booking to wildlife charities

I’m passionate about protecting wildlife and natural habitats, and this year I've resolved to take more action for nature. As part of this, I've pledged to donate £15 from every Whimsy by the Peaks booking in 2026 to charities that help local wildlife. This will be alongside my membership of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, the National Trust and English Heritage The four charities I’ve chosen all operate in a 50 mile radius of the cottage. They are Charlie’s Place, Linjoy Wild

EV charger now available at Whimsy by the Peaks

We now have a 7KW Voltshare untethered electric vehicle charger available for guest use at the cottage. It's located next to our private parking space, just off the shared drive. The charger is Pay as You Go, either via Voltshare's mobile app, or a QR code linking to their charging website. If you have any problems using the app or the charger during your stay, Voltshare's dedicated customer care team are just a phone call away.

Electric vehicle charging coming soon

Whimsy by the Peaks is soon to be EV-friendly! I've signed up with Voltshare for the installation of an untethered 7KW EV charger at the cottage. All being well, it should be up and running by 11th November 2025. You'll be able to either download the Voltshare app or scan the QR code on the unit, and pay as you go for the electricity you use. The charger will be located next to our private parking space off the shared drive.
